With tuition only covering a portion of the cost of an 'Iolani education, we have always relied on unrestricted gifts to the 'Iolani Fund to help deliver a world-class, life-changing education to every student on campus.
Tuition covers just 70% of the total cost of an 'Iolani education. This means that every student on campus receives a "hidden scholarship" of more than $12,000. We rely on unrestricted gifts to the 'Iolani Fund to bridge that gap, which helps to keep tuition increases as low as possible and provide an unparalleled experience for students across the campus, creating the foundation for an incredible future.

Unrestricted support plays a key role in the future of our school in a number of ways and touches every student across the campus. It enables us to maintain:
Access to an ‘Iolani Education: Since the cost of an ‘Iolani education has always been higher than tuition, every student at ‘Iolani has benefitted from the gifts of donors who bridge that gap. In addition, ‘Iolani Fund donations support scholarships and financial aid, enabling a diverse group of students to attend ‘Iolani.
World Leading Programs: For ‘Iolani to keep its place as one of the best schools in the world, we must continue to make investments in the best and brightest programs and faculty. ‘Iolani Fund donations allow the school to stay on the leading edge of education.
Relationship-Based Education: At the heart of the ‘Iolani experience is the relationship between teacher and student, and that relationship relies upon small class sizes and a student –teacher ratio that fosters those relationships. While we remain committed to that model, it is also an expensive one to support. ‘Iolani Fund gifts allow us to maintain small class sizes that foster valuable interactions between teachers and students.

Earn recognition as the best private school in Hawaii and one of the top schools in the nation for the third year in a row (according to niche.com);
Increase financial aid to more than $7 million, assisting more than 530 families (27% of all students);
Keep tuition increases low (below 4%) even as operational costs have increased;
Enhance the beauty of the campus with eight new buildings in the last four years;
Renovate Lower School classrooms and enhance in-classroom technology across campus;
Increase support for students through enhanced counseling, standardized testing, and health services;
Provide world-class opportunities that give students across campus the chance to follow their passions and excel.
